After breakfast we headed out and picked up the hire car, Sue was kind enough to drop us off and after a bit of a complication we dropped the car back at Sue and Simon’s place to then head into the city. Our first stop was St Paul’s Cathedral, we purchased tickets to climb the 528 steps to the Whispering Gallery, Stone Gallery and Golden Gallery. We were able to hang around for the Eucharistic service at 12:30pm.

We then got a bite to eat before heading to the British Museum. We were able to get through at 2:00pm which gave us 3 hours inside, this wasn’t nearly enough to see everything but we were able to see a lot of highlights including the Rosetta Stone, Egyptian Mummies, Assyrian Lion Hunt Reliefs, Elgin Marbles and the Parthenon Sculptures. As the museum closed at 5pm we made our way toward the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, we were able to find a spot to sit by the river before we walked across the Tower Bridge to take the train back to Sue and Simon’s place for dinner. Cousin Rachel also joined us as we all prepared to head down to Dorset for Dibfest 2026.
