We were up early to get out to Oxford while it was more quiet. After parking and taking a bus into town, our first stop was Christ Church College to see the Grand Hall, Staircases, Cloisters and Chapel — a beautiful historic site. With some locations being used in the Harry Potter films, it was very special for Sarah.

After a bite to eat we went to the Duke Humfrey’s Library and Divinity School for a fantastic tour led by the Bodleian library staff. Fascinating history and gorgeous architecture inside.

We then walked to New College to see the Chapel, Courtyard and Cloisters. The Chapel has a breath-taking wall behind the altar. And the courtyard was another HP scene, if you know, you know.

Before we finished in Oxford we found University College where Will’s Grandfather studied.

We then headed off down towards Dorset, driving through Berkshire and Hampshire before arriving in Harmans Cross. We got to the field where the old Caravan resides and where we all are tenting for Dibfest. Cousin Katie had kindly set ours up, so it was really an evening of settling in and joyfully reconnecting with extended family over fish and chips.
