We were up early for a cuppa then went for a walk around town, it was nice and quiet with just the local dog walkers out. We did a loop around Windermere town then down to Bowness-on-Windermere. We then had breakfast back up at the cabin and got ready for our walk, heading off to walk up Wansfell Pike.

Starting the walk through the field and over the stone walls, we began the climb up to the top. It was hard going initially then better from about halfway. We stopped at the first peak for a snack then continued along the top towards the second for lunch. To say the views over the lake and other hillsides were stunning — unfortunately the photos can’t do it justice, but it will give you some idea. There were quite a few other walkers and some dogs. Even a sausage dog was able to do it! We then had a little detour on the way down as Sarah had to pat and feed a cow. It took us about 4 hours and just under 10km as a round trip.

After the hike we headed back for a quick cuppa then walked into town again to do the ferry tour of the lake. It was a lovely 90 minutes of enjoying the views and fresh, brisk air. Walking back to the cabin, we sorted all our things for leaving tomorrow, had dinner and some dessert while enjoying the 8pm sunny weather.
