August 20 – Fire, fishing and the clear Swedish sky

After a great cabin sleep, we had breakfast with Joni with a lovely view of the lake. There we enjoyed some bird watching and blue skies.

We then headed out for our first fishing trip on one of the local islands with great weather but no fish bites. After a few snags on the line (from Sarah), we retired to better plans.

Enjoying hamburgers for lunch back at the cabin, they were delicious. Ingrid then arrived with a large hammock in tow, and we all got to work setting it up. Unfortunately, it may not have been the biggest success, but it was good enough for 1.

After some berry picking in the woods, Sarah set to baking a blueberry crumble with Ingrid. Afternoon tea together was enjoyed, and then we moved onto some work. Setting off to make a fire for a bbq dinner.

Sarah also learned to drive the boat so she could drop off Ingrid back at the other side of the lake, with great success too. We cooked pork on the fire and once we were nice and full, we set off to do some late night fishing.

We tried a few places but again no fish! Although the sky was clear so we could see a lot of stars and even a few meteorites.

Heading back just before midnight we went to bed, ready for another day at the cabin.
