We were up early and went for a walk towards the church, down to the lake and around to the local cafe for a Macchiato before we headed up to have breakfast, again prepared by Dani. We then finished packing our bags and headed down to the train station and caught the train to Lecco.

With a quick 10 minute change over we were on the next train to Milan, arriving in Milan just before 11, we had an hour and a half wait so we sat in Five Guys and had a coke while watching the busy station floor. It was then time to get the next train and with the station packed it was a bit hectic, while the platform for the train wasn’t announced until the last second also.

The ride to Levanto was 3 hours and was mainly tunnels and the Italian countryside. We then changed trains and headed to Manarola. Arriving at the train station we walked through a tunnel and up the hill of the town, which was quite the task with our bags. We then were greeted by our Airbnb host and checked in to our room.

After freshening up we headed out to walk “The lovers walk” which is from Manarola to Riomaggiore. It was a lovely walk and was very easy as it was paved and flat the whole way. We arrived in Riomaggiore and made our way through town and towards the ‘beach’ (again pebbles). The beach was stunning, we picked a spot and quickly jumped in. The water was very salty so was easy to relax, floating in the gentle waves.

After an hour at the beach we walked back into town and along ‘The lovers walk’ to Manarola, we stopped to watch the sunset then continued to the room. Will then popped out for take away pasta and we prepared for the day ahead.
